History of the Gwinnett Global Methodist Church
The Gwinnett Global Methodist Church, official recognized by the denomination on September 1, 2023, meets weekly at Crews Middle School, 1000 Old Snellville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA. On October 1, 2023 a Founding Members Sunday worship service and celebration luncheon welcomed the initial members of the church.
The Gwinnett Global Methodist Church Plant began as a movement of the Holy Spirit in individuals who were called to form a Biblically based community of faith, in the Wesleyan tradition, within central Gwinnett County, Georgia. The group of individuals from several area churches, began with home based meetings in December 2022 and January 2023, which led to a community gathering in late January, where a Leadership Team was formed.
The lengthy process of weekly meetings led to the establishment of a new church on February 23, 2023, when incorporation documents were signed, officially creating the Gwinnett Global Methodist Church Plant. A temporary Board of Directors was created with officers elected to serve until such time as a convening conference is held launching the new church.
The first weekly worship service for Gwinnett Global Methodist Church Plant was held on March 26, 2023, at 5:30 PM at Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology.
On May 7, 2023, worship services were moved to 10:30 AM Sunday Morning, with a Gathering time at 10:00 AM at Alton C Crews Middle School.
